That's only fifty-three bucks per capita. Sheep give up more each fleecing, and this is not like a slaughterhouse meal thing, hide tanning and all. It's a sandbur, not a scorpion sting.
Worded perhaps a bit differently by one who might reach for that sophistry in seriousness, to persuade, but stripped bare that's the argument.
