The European perspective seems clear, and a panel discussion held in English seems to be messaging native English speakers. Russian aggression needs to be forestalled, among those still feeling that way. And others, going their own way have consequences.

Negotiations without Ukraine are absolutely unaccepable being an in-English theme of a panel of European Union leaders needs attention on on both sides of the Atlantic and by other nations who might over-trust one nation where now there is doubt.

And Ukraine membership in NATO seems fitting for that nation's long term interests and its security. Europe seems to see it. Who does not?

Leave it there. This is the link. Watch the panel.

UPDATE: Another panel of Europeans

FURTHER: Link. Another link. These are voices people in the States should listen to in order to understand things beyond X (formerly Twitter) or Trump's blurb issuances on his simplified tweet channel.

FURTHER: These politician/diplomats understand Trump as well as many in the U.S. and are adaptive people, with a memory and a past of adapting to a fight. The Germans understand avoiding two fronts, and Europe has had its worries before over Russian aggression. They seem to push NATO for Ukraine as their issue. Time is short for them since as with others they did not take Trump fully seriously that he would leave them alone. He has, they get it. Long term solutions or results seem clear, a collective belief that reliance upon the U.S. was effective for a while and going forward will be confronted because there is no other choice. Not happy with Trump's VP and DOD head - what was said, how it was said, they are not impolite.
