Just saying.
UPDATE: The swamp is no deeper than where john bolton swam. Promise a draining? Then drain. We need no more torture. Any was too much, and waterboarding is different from surfboarding, the latter of which Tulsi did in younger days. An outsider is needed. Gabbard is that. More so than any DOD argument for Hegseth as not cut from the same bolt of cloth.
Insider promotions got us to where we are at, and George H.W. Bush is no longer in a mischief place, so do what is needed. Overdue.
FURTHER: Vance reporetedly did go to bat - USAToday carried an AP report stating mid-item about a few skeptics being convinced:
[...] Young, a former intelligence officer in the Marine Corps, questioned past statements that Gabbard has made, including support for government leaker Edward Snowden and expressions of sympathy for Russia. Young said he sought written assurances from Gabbard that she would punish those who disclose sensitive government intelligence. Vance played a crucial role, brokering a letter from Gabbard that spelled out those assurances.
“I got them at the 11th hour,” Young said after his committee vote for Gabbard.
Young said Vance approached him with a “respectful” tone and “listened a lot more than he talked.”
It's a change from Vance's Senate tenure, when he often defied the GOP leadership under Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell. Now Vance is working closely with the new team.
A similar process played out with Cassidy. He said he voted to advance Kennedy after “intense conversations” and reassurances on how health agencies would handle vaccine recommendations. The senator thanked Vance for his “honest counsel.”
Cassidy and Young insisted that the political fallout from blocking Trump's Cabinet picks did not factor into their negotiations, but the stakes were clear. Cassidy, who is up for reelection in two years, already has a primary challenger after voting to convict Trump on an impeachment charge in 2021 stemming from Trump's role in the Capitol riot.
Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., said that regardless whether Trump offers senators such as Cassidy or Young a campaign endorsement, no Republican wants to openly defy the president.
“I think that Donald Trump at his heart is ultimately a transactional guy," Cramer said, adding, “Whether you ever get an endorsement out of it, not having an active enemy. He can be pretty effective as you know and he's proven, so nobody wants to be in that spot."
With Vance believing women's childbearing, childrearing roles are essential to the ongoing national stable population Gestalt, in part believing that from his Catholic conversion and living it in his own personal family that way, he appears to have given Gabbard full and fair support among his former colleagues, as with Hegseth, so he should be commended for being gender fair that way. Gabbard's life differs from that which the Vance spouse has embraced, yet Vance held to his duty to help Trump and treat Gabbard fairly. It was what, as Trump's VP, he is expected to do, yet doing it matters.
Gabbard and Kennedy will get their floor votes later this week.
...........................................................
FURTHER: Why do I care about the Gabbard appointment? Because it is the one along with Hegseth which seems to most rock the boat.
SIGINT and HUMINT (from Mossad and others, our U.S. spooks being more SIGINT people) produce more data than the spooks can process; but look at how they got Luigi via surveillance cameras, output tediously reviewed by humans because this case they cared about - big insurance guy shot - not a black on black street homicide type thing where they'd not care enough to put in the work. Then, circulating info, to where Luigi's Big Mac meal (in another State) was interrupted because a worker made a phone call. Proof, all the proof needed, SIGINT alone cannot do it all for one case, (so how can it do enough for all cases).
But, look at what Elon and his six-sigma minions can do in Memphis. Two items you can start from and branch out, there's much online but specialized media not general news, yet, start here and here. Wrap your head around those, and research the web as much as you want with that start.
The insider promotion - torture was used and not suppressed, by the insiders, plus if they have Elon capabilities - they have more wealth than him and they can classify info to hide it and some there may be six-sigma - the SIGINT capability is there NOW and reaching data mining capability to where the spooks have everything and all we can hope for is a protective and wise head atop things, one NOT promoted from inside the ranks, but capable of reason outside the box; and Gabbard is likely as good as you'll get that way from Trump because JD is already assigned other stuff. That makes a long story short.
Trump did right. The chorus against Gabbard proves it was a good outside the box move by Trump. So give him credit for it, in fairness. Even being who he is, admit he got this one right. Even a blind pig can sometimes sniff out a truffle.
NOT one of the spooks to mind the spooks. Senators - Approve her nomination, please.
