It is an interesting story of waste, fraud and abuse, and all done on the public's dime. Your dime. Everyone's dime.

In the United States v. Comey situation.

It speaks for itself. It says a vengeful man with power, can waste public money, abuse the legal system, and fraudulently claim a sense of existential threat from a photo of the prime number 8647 arranged in seashells posted on an instagram channel. The DOJ indicts it. All to harass greatly a perceived political enemy of the ultimate DOJ's boss. So waste, fraud and abuse.

Read it please. It boggles the mind that this is regarded as serious litigation, and that the USA's DOJ has time for this when real crime exists. It is nothing but targeting a long-serving public servant because the boss calls that shot and the dogs set out to tree a fox for the boss (excuse the mixed metaphor).

Finally a hat tip to EmptyWheel, here, for linking to the motion papers discussed by Wheeler in that post. Seek out that post for detailed analysis where Crabgrass will not "reinvent the wheel" by excerpting.

And please note, she promises future posting on the motion and surrounding circumstance, and Crabgrass bets she keeps that promise.

It is a dispicable waste of court time and public money. As well as stupid. It is DOJ kissing whatever.

And yes, opinions can differ.

UPDATE: Link. What can you say? MSN carrues two parallel reports. Here and here. Web publishers seem to believe reporting a seedy story is okay.

FURTHER: Comey has been indicted and forced to the substantial cost of a defense in federal court over publishing a photo of shells arranged in a patterned 8647, with commentary. Each of the crop art stories has published a photo of beans and seeds arranged in a patterned 8647, with more extensive commentary. Will they be indicted? Will Crabgrass be at risk, having posted the number as part of this report, but no image? Isn't this Comey-aimed vindictive litigation by Trump as dumb as dirt? As mean as a scorpion stinging because it's venom is in the DNA? Shouldn't he stop?. Shouldn't someone in the administration be reasonable?

Shouldn't the Judge dismiss and award Comey attorneys fees and litigation costs compensation? There is Rule 11 in FRCP, but this is a federal indictment, not a civil case. There is an inherent power in the courts to sanction wrongful egregious or frivolous litigation conduct. Which is what Trump's doing.

Recall what the judge did in the bogus Trump lawsuit against his own controlled IRS, where the slush fund for creeps "settlement" was struck down and lawyers were referred for bar review and possible threat to their licenses to practice. Blanche included.

What would Roy Cohn, Trump's litigiousness mentor, say? About being cute, but trying to not be too cute.

FURTHER: Why is the public not aware of all this, and outraged? Where are the editorial cartoons?
