These are the ten. Is there a factor common to them besides their vote. Something such as DOGE not shutting down facilities in their states, some deal cut besides the Schumer decision he stated that a shutdown could or would be worse.
Chuck Schumer - New York
Kirsten Gillibrand - New York
John
Fetterman - Pennsylvania
Dick Durbin - Illinois
Jeanne Shaheen - New Hampshire
Maggie Hassan - New Hampshire
Catherine Cortez Masto - Nevada
Gary Peters - Michigan
Brian Schatz - Hawaii
Angus King -Maine
All the House Dem heat is directed at Schumer, as leader, giving a green light for others to not oppose cloture.
The fact is these ten acted in concert. What's up? Is any investigative journalist working to see if there is some ulterior motive shared among the ten?
Or are they just log rolling to get something each wants for their state, or some bill wanted passed?
Was a Republican promise given about something? It looks as if no concession was made by Republicans.
Was it a motivation, where Schumer gained relief from an after the fact "Schumer Shutdown" blame game which he feared and avoided? See, MSNBC, where Michael Steele made that assertion. A CYA thing to not be blamed if the fan loaded up if cloture was voted down and a shutdown ensued, perhaps a lasting one where Schumer would be cast as a culprit? Image preservation, one way or the other, and feeling less worry over House Dem scorn than worry over a possibility?
And - what of the other nine? What accounting have they made for their votes?
