Not for herself. For others. For us in Anoka County.
She got us twenty-two bucks per capita, this wonder-woman got that, for us in stimulus funds for Anoka County.
Compared to a paltry thousand or so per head, Big Stone County. How can that tiny wherever locale ever think to compete in needs, and foreclosure hardships, with lands represented by the wonderfully productive - district first and personal advancement and personal promotion a distant second - extraordinary manners of Ms. Bachmann?
She delivered accordingly -- as best as her leadership skill and qualities allowed.
She knows --- To not make enemies. To not burn bridges. To be a bridge builder, not a burner. (That's how she during her career was so successful getting a new Stillwater bridge, after all. By not being divisive and confrontational, and not a publicity hound.)
I am impressed. She could have gotten only twenty bucks per capita, but no, she got us twenty-two.
WOW! Some job!
Tarryl Clark, how can you ever make a contest out of numbers like that in Anoka Couty?
Here's the link, and excerpt:
A breakdown of some $2.6 billion in stimulus related contracts, loans, grants and funds allocated for Minnesota shows an average expenditure of $514.81 in stimulus spending for each man, woman, and child statewide, according to data compiled by the oversight group ProPublica and public information on government stimulus websites. Roughly one third of the overall funding was funneled through counties ($894 million), while the other two-thirds went to the state ($1.792 million) as of July 20th.
Each of the top ten counties that received the greatest per capita share of stimulus funding is located in Greater Minnesota: Big Stone ($1,005), Chippewa ($913), Grant ($856), Wabasha ($842), Freeborn ($784), Traverse ($728), Marshall ($583), Nicollet ($552), Mille Lacs ($517), and Aitkin ($497).
Three of the bottom ten counties that received the least per capita share of stimulus funding are located in the metro area: Scott ($21), Anoka ($22), Houston ($24), Dakota ($28), Roseau ($30), Lac qui Parle ($33), Fillmore ($39), Martin ($43), Watonwan ($47), and Polk ($49).
Yeah. An average of a hair over five hundred per person, statewide. That's what the GOP blog says. Have you any cause to doubt that number?
And Bachmann got Anoka County twenty-two. Per person. What can you say?
