Today's Anoka County Union, print version, has the info (which I could not find online, hence no link). "All forums will be held at the respective community's city hall, starting at 7 p.m."
Community cable schedules for the event week should indicate whether live broadcasts will be televised, and/or rebroadcasting.
Dates are:
Anoka -- Oct. 8
Coon Rapids -- Oct. 14
Legislative District 48 in Ramsey -- Oct. 15
Legislative District 49 in Andover --Oct. 15
Ramsey -- Oct 23
That is all the info the Union had. I made no effort to cross-check the LWV site.
If things are true to form from past events, letters will be sent to all candidates in advance, disclosing predetermined questions. There should also be time for questions from the audience, on index cards compiled by the moderator to cull and merge topics. I do not recall whether opening and closing statement time will be available, or only one or the other.
After the primary there will be only two candidates for any contested seat. LWV rules are that if one candidate declines to appear that contest will not be included (i.e., there will be no one-candidate speech opportunity).
For Ramsey, all open seats are contested. That is, mayor, one at large council, and Wards 2 and 4. The other three council seats were up last cycle, Elvig in Ward 1, Dehen in Ward 3, and Look, at large.
