Will Northstar have wheel-chair capability? If not, how is it relevant to VA clinic needs, where that feature might factor into a siting choice.

Start with this link, where Anoka is in the hunt for the VA clinic location now, along with Elk River, and Ramsey, and with Michele Bachmann [why, what's the connection, who owns the site??] reportedly pumping iron for Elk River.

This Strib online link.

State Rep Jim Abeler owns land near the Anoka Northstar stop.

One hopes he's not politicking his own interests, vs. only having the public interest in mind.

At least we know who owns the Ramsey Town Center proposed site. City of Ramsey, there's no private profiteer pushing for that option. (Hence, there's a likelihood it would fail.)

Again, what's the reason Michele Bachmann is wed to an Elk River site? Big donor, big favorite, or simply judgment without any interesting agenda behind the agenda?

One would hope that Paul Levy, author of the Strib item, has an investigative nose to ask about who owns what when officials have pet sites. There might be a journalistic coup in the details.
