Three recent Digby links. The first does not impact my favorite landlord, David Flaherty, because his "product" is niched differently.

It there is such a verb as "niched." If not, you know what I mean.

Digby, here, on having to pay to stay.

Here, on basic decency.

"Fiscal cliff," here.

Yes, the one guy had a worse track record than the other has, but people die from policy choices, and making money off of coverage conflicts, denials of coverage, rescissions, all that, has a dimension to it that I find distasteful, one that single payer would reform. Surely, single payer could not cover every potential procedure, some on a cost/benefit balance would be too great and that is where private carriers could offer extended coverage options, but single payer would level inequalities existing now that are galling.

An op ed about taxes, with three sidebar links, one link in a quote.

The item, online here, the quote, below:

I don't have a ready estimate of how much capping deductions for those earning more than $250,000 would raise. But you can ballpark it by looking the Tax Policy Center's estimates for capping itemized deductions at $50,000. It would raise $749 billion over 10 years, within the $800 billion that Mr Boehner has previously agreed to. That’s also more than the $429 billion yielded from returning the two top rates to their pre 2001 levels.

There is much more, so read the original.

There is no problem with the two solutions mentioned in the quote being utilized, it is not by any means only an either/or situation.

I spoke with God and She intended the ALEC amendments to fail.

Explaining the headline, Andy at Residual Forces posts to a link about why Richard Mourdock lost in Indiana after his undermining Richard Lugar in the Republican primary; Andy here, the link, here. I seize on the second comment to that Indiana post, under the pseudonym, "The Holy Ghost," stating:

Well I’m going to be honest, I had a hand in this. After seeing what a whacko Mr.Murdoch was I went into the homes of Indianins and ensured they would vote against Mr.Murdoch. That type of cult belief from the scripture has no business in the world. I spoke with God and he intended for Mr.Murdoch to lose

Well, if Michele Bachmann can blaspheme about God choosing one as unfit as herself to run for Congress, I can join this commenter, and say the BIG LADY, She told me about the ALEC tampering not fitting Her Grand Design.

So, tell me if you believe that I got God's gender wrong ...

Then give me your evidence.

God had it in for Petraeus too I suppose. I cannot say for certain. She never let me know a thing about that. Think about it, She could have arranged the General's affair to be with a Bulgarian woman weightlifter instead, or a boy. Perhaps God showed the General grace and mercy. And now there is speculation about the other other woman. FBI investigating CIA, and Secret Service visiting a bordelo in Columbia a half year back or so. What government skulduggery business do you suppose is going on, with this diversionary smokescreen being unleashed on us now as a suitable distraction?

RAMSEY: Sakry reports on opening of the Ramsey Northstar rail stop.

It’s all aboard in Ramsey
By Tammy Sakry on November 9, 2012 at 12:15 pm

It was all aboard for the inaugural trip out of the Ramsey Rail Station Nov. 8.

[...] “These are truly exciting times going on in the city of Ramsey right now,” said Anoka County Commissioner Matt Look, who also heads the Anoka County Regional Rail Authority (ACRRA).

With the addition of the Ramsey rail station, Ramsey is becoming a destination, he said.

“People have been very excited for this project for many, many years,” Look said.

[...] According to Look, there was $2 million in savings on the $13.2 million project.

The ACRRA’s funding partners for the project with the Counties Transit Improvement Board (CTIB), the Metropolitan Council, the state and the city of Ramsey.

This is a momentous day for Ramsey, said Mayor Bob Ramsey.

When the city began developing the COR, it was asked what the initials stood for, he said.

It should be City on the Rail, Ramsey said.

The station will benefit the stores and restaurants in the COR and will allow people to commute every day as well as attend Twins and Vikings games, he said.

To me, it is Cash Outlays Repeatedly.

Or, Count Our Restaurants.

I missed attending the hoopla.

I await arrival of the first Flaherty tenant. A landmark thing? Or is "milestone" the term? Defining moment? Like serving of the first Big Mac. If that ever is real and happens. Pumping the first tankful at Super America? Events of consequence.

Darren's Landform hitting a million and a half, would that be a milestone? He is not in the photo. Nor Flaherty.
