Northstar - truth in advertising - see the evidence. Tons of YouTube stuff. Plenty yellow-and-blue Metro Transit trains featured. No people.

Two representative video items, here and here. Screenshots below. Where are the crowds? Cut into either video at the screenshot -and- elapsed time point where the screenshot was taken. Look for hordes of folks.

Or screen a bunch of the other pormo stuff on YouTube. Same challenge. Look for people using the thing.

The loneliness of the Northstar Saga? Nobody rides.

No matter how many touting videos I watched. Nobody rides.

Anoka County Watchdog maintains policy consistency regarding Northstar.

One topic of several, at this Watchdog link. An excerpt pesenting the Watchdog's latest Northstar commentary is presented, but go to the actual above link, for the live links posted by the Watchdog. (Links to two Propaganda YouTubes, same two local politicians featured in each, with the Watchdog unconvinced):

It is worth noting, the Watchdog and I diverge regarding one of his last two paragraphs.

There will be a November election of national scope. There will be local opportunities to express citizen feelings. The below photo is from ABC Newspapers, here, (with the fair use captioning added), it being the commemorative groundbreaking of the subsidized Rental by the Rails, started, surprisingly, on a schedule with chickens home to roost only after the election...

Some now on council bemoan the constraints of debt service and debt retirement for the Norman Castle. Yet is the answer to incur further debt, the dog chasing its tail into ever more constraining and constrained circles? At best, what, the dog catches and bites off its tail, proving what?

One can always reach back to others and their decision-making, as constraint. Yet the big step the ones up for reelection made, Look being a decisive force on Ramsey's council at the time and quite the advocate for the step, was to buy the distressed land for millions out of foreclosure with the intent to spend much more immediately rather than holding and waiting for a market recovery, with the trend then as friend.

That's as far back as I care to trace mischief and bad decision-making, since it is the relevant "crossing the Rubicon" point for the four shoveling luminaries facing reelection - regardless of the prior sunk costs they faced while deciding.

Interestingly, of those in that photo, the two that are brightly smiling over things are Flaherty and Cronk.

The four horsemen of our local Apocalypse, (i.e., the Town Center rebrand now known as COR), shovel on unsmilingly.

Bill undermining the three-trimester timing analysis of Roe v Wade has been passed and signed into law in Arizona.

__________UPDATE_________
More mischief, Oklahoma, Reuters reporting a few days ago.

___________FURTHER UPDATE___________
Anoka County, Kenneth Turner and his assault on his pregnant "girlfriend," KARE news online, this link.

The defendant's conduct against the woman, while shocking if proved, should not be presumed to be "attempted murder" of a fetus since that presupposes a community agreement on personhood of a fetus coming into being somewhere along the nine month cycle between conception to the time of natural delivery (with substantial community-wide disagreement on that presupposition especially with respect to abortion choice availability).

Reporting failed to distinguish how far along the pregnancy was. That might be a crucial point if authorities want to set a personhood threshold as time of conception or otherwise later and more in line with the trimester analysis of Roe v. Wade  [versus not according personhood to a fetus at all unless or until there is a natural delivery, as is believed to be one very sensible  pro-choice alternative having substantial support in the community].

If this defendant is guilty of "attempted murder" what is the slippery slope future for abortion providers? That is the problem with criminal law trying to define a personhood situation where many might dislike a prosecutorial bias arbitrarily imposed upon such a very important constitutional civil rights question. Much is at stake if wrong and ill-thought-out precedent ensues.

Great care and progressive vigilance of and within the legal system is required.

Choice haters can be very, very sneaky and backhanded in how they operate.

I am told that hotel owner Jim Graves is now the DFL endorsed CD 6 candidate to oppose Republican Michele Bachmann.

UPDATE: DFL ENDORSEMENTS. JIM GRAVES, CD 6. BRIAN BARNES, CD 3. NEW SD 35 MAINLY INCLUDES CITIZENS IN CD 6, WITH SOME IN THE THIRD DISTRICT. THE SENATE DISTRICT THUS SENT DELEGATES TO BOTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT CONVENTIONS. REPORTING ON THE GRAVES-BACHMANN CONTEST, THIS GOOGLE.

It's word of mouth that Graves won the endorsement.

It is officially reported Graves will be the CD 6 DFL-endorsed candidate, per MPR, here and here.

I do not know how many ballots, but I expect by the end it was an endorsement by acclimation.

Now, if you want to see a skilled woman serving in the US Senate debate a bozo from the US House:

Kirsten Gillibrand (Democratic Senator, NY) will be discussing women and the economy opposite Rep. Michele Bachmann on Meet the Press with David Gregory tomorrow.

You can watch this critical election-year discussion by tuning into NBC Sunday morning (check your local listings to confirm the exact time).

Gillibrand will discuss why it’s vital to be a strong advocate for advancing women’s rights and economic opportunity.

It should prove interesting. Bachmann courts this, it's nationally televised, but bet she will duck extensive debating with Graves. Ya betcha. Titanium spine she says she has. Watch her prove what's true by sseing her ducking debating chances hither and yon - in district.

Exceptional good news. An SD 30 state senate candidate. He is NOT the Big Lake Township candidate who is little but a tool of ALEC. He is NOT the one as an ALEC tool is wanting you to have "your papers please" special ID in hand, to be a citizen allowed your right to vote.

I.e., he is not named Mary Kiffmeyer.

I.e., he is not the Minnesota ALEC anchor person for undermining citizen rights.

I.e., he is not one to engage in despicable practices.

Paul Perovich, is the DFL's SD 30 endorsed candidate. Read very good reporting of things, online at the Star News.

This gives DFL supporters a second DFL Perovich brother to merit a campaign contribution, along with his brother Peter Perovich, the DFL's SD 35 candidate.

Look for a post update once I am able to find campaign contact info for the Paul Perovich for Senate District 30 effort. To avoid both confusion and redundancy, I will update with campaign-specific info for both of the Perovich brothers.

But get Kiffmeyer out of the legislature yesterday. Improve Minnesota that way. Retire her and Ralph both back to their nursing profession. VOTE SMART. And this time you can do that without having to present any "your papers please" special stuff. In fact this time you need not present papers to vote against the ALEC inspired effort to require that you have to present papers.

__________UPDATE_________
I thought twice about that "papers please" link, because it is a little rambling and it has a bit too much Tea Party sentiment to it in my mind, but it was written online sometime ago, before the Republicans decided to push voter ID to disenfranchise same day registration which is predominantly used by people who show up and then far more frequently than not end up voting for Democrats and for liberal ballot issues rather than ALEC stuff. I published the link because it in parts borders on right wingnutery. I truly wonder how the Kiffmeyer-ALEC people intend to propagandize that part, the Tea Party part, of their base to sell them on the issue of switching to now want more intrusive identity papers than governments at different levels already require. I expect it will be harnessed to immigration talk. Use the side door, not the front door.

I use Google, but should I?

Gmail is convenient. The Crabgrass blog is posted and hosted via Blogger, a Google product. Google Scholar is a fine product and Google searches seem to always return something, often much, that is useful.

But consider this, if you think you may want to use an opposition product. If you want to find out more about Duck Duck Go, you can Google it. Search it on Dogpile.

And, What is the search filter bubble - and should you care? Here. Also, here.

You have to appreciate the Duck Duck Go presentations - a Tenth District Minnesota judge could understand them and find them convincing. Note how the illustrated presentations are featured atop the Duck Duck privacy page. And while Duck Duck Go tells a good tale, I cannot vouch for it being true. Can you?

But is anything perfect? This link. Consider trying

search=download open-source software office suites

with Bing, with Duck Duck Go, and with Google. Note that Bing is the least helpful for the search, it being Microsoft's search tool and with Office being a major Microsoft cash cow search bias is expected. On that comparative search, look for a link to quickly get to a download of Libre Office. Oracle, after purchasing Sun and not wanting to maintain Open Office orphaned it to the Apache Software Foundation and it now is in the Apache incubation phase of things - but a US thing. Libre Office is a European fork of Open Office started before Oracle freed the product but while Oracle simply sat doing nothing to maintain it.

Politics of search? Answer that for yourself.
