Next, Trump says Iran made contact and he delayed striking power plants for five days. He said that Iran initiated contact. He avoided detailing who made contact and via what channel (direct or via intermediary/mediator). It would not be expected to be the newest IRGC chief because it is more likely contact was made via a civil government person and not any military officer.
With Larijani deceased, perhaps intransigence over "Iran's right to enrich uranium" might soften. Trump has said it was not the new supreme leader who made contact, so the field of potential contacts is narrowed that way.
Israel remains active in Lebanon, Trump says Israel should be accepting of ending strikes in Iran on terms so far roughed out, and presumably Bibi knows the contact channel and person with instructions to not assassinate that individual. Possibly he was given a list of non-target persons. A short leash is a good leash for that bloodthirsty irritating SOB.
