Strib reports - Metro bus fares recover 31% of cost, Hiawatha fares recover 40%, Northstar fares recover 16%.

Strib, here. The return on investment from the transit tills suggest that Northstar was NOT the next logical piece in transit expansion to be implemented after Hiawatha.

Politics trumped common sense.

It is not unusual to see that.

Then, to reduce bus costs and boost Northstar ridership [fare cash flow] the logical thing would have been to add a Northstar stop at Foley Park-and-Ride for rush-hour express travel downtown - replacing multiple buses.

So, the politicians, Matt Look in particular spark-plugging things, put a stop in Ramsey. Where he lives.

And the Ramsey politicians are playing banker to a pair of Indiana gentlemen, Mr. Flaherty, and Mr. Collins.

Go figure.

If you equate politician decision making with sound thinking, please explain things in a comment.
