Aubrey Immelman, man of mystery.

Okay, regarding the post just below this one, Aubrey Immelman appears to be the same person reported to FEC as "Abraham Immelman," from this comment, put up in the last hour or two, at dumpbachmann (and from an email he sent me responding to an inquiry, see below).

Patty Wetterling is a personal friend who served as a resource in my investigation of missing person cases in Minnesota following the disappearance of St. John's University student Joshua Guimond in 2002.

That begs the question a bit. I surely wish I had friends, personal friends, who gave me $5600. That is friendly, my friends are not that close, or endowed.

Being curious, I noted the comment had a "Homepage" link, given above, and I toggled.

Interesting how the guy got the message up so quickly on dumpbachmann, given how he is overseas and busy:

Aubrey Immelman is currently in Europe to conduct military training and attend meetings. His campaign for the 6th Congressional District seat begins on July 15th, 2008.

So, it must have been Abraham Immelman, less busy, who had time to comment on dumpbachmann. And I had to try four different whois search engines to get one that returns something on *.us domain name info. But first this screen shot of a subpage from the Immelman campaign website:

I suppose it's as well he left it blank, that National Security stuff.

If he told me, he'd have to kill me, if he's like Jesse was when asked about the days he spent SEALing around in the military.

Here's the whois data I eventually found, via register.com, he is not hiding behind any whois anonymizer (as the Draft Ciresi site, suspiciously is). There is contact info there, for constituents, and that is a good sign of a bona fide candidacy. But if he or Abraham can take the time to post something on dumpbachmann, they can take the time to give a fuller story, the fan base wants that.

So, that info is not for spamming or any other wrongful use. I have seen under the byline, Aubrey Immelman, that the man authored political analyses of indirect candidate personality profiling, which is a specialty academic interest going with his professorship in psychology. His candidacy seems real; and for now I willingly suspend all skepticism and disbelief. He has sent a prompt email indicating a professional tie to what has been a recognized strong and abiding interest of Patty Wetterling, missing persons:

[16 minutes ago] Thank you for your inquiry, Mr. Zaetsch.

My financial support for Patty Wetterling was my personal investment in securing federal law enforcement resources for investigating the disappearances of St. John's University student Joshua Guimond; Jacob Wetterling; Christoper Kerze of Eagan; the abduction and sexual assault on Jared S. in Cold Spring; and several other unsolved, potentially related cases.

I knew Patty before she entered politics and she remains a family friend. I've never met Mr. Tinklenberg, though I've seen him in public.

It's public information that my legal name is Abraham; however, I'm not known by that name professionally or in the community.

I'm leaving on a business trip shortly, so I may not be able to respond to follow-up questions in the next 10 days.

Sincerely,

Aubrey Immelman

It was "personal investment" of $5600 in campaign donations too, however, regardless of any other ties and time spent on common concerns.

That wraps up all I know, at present, and it's probably vetting a recently filed candidate more than most receive on such short notice. One thing, he does psychological profiling as part of his professional interest, so I would hope to see him profile the three present candidates for Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District [and others if there are further GOP or DFL primary challenges].

BOTTOM LINE: What's the response, if any, that a waiting public shall get, from the Tinklenberg camp? Will he debate Immelman, any place, any time, even here, middle of nowhere, each side bringing seconds:

The new guy looks less portly, having more a lean and hungry look, as Shakespear would say it. Will Tinklenberg be open to debates during the primary, all three candidates? That is one of the bottom line questions that have kept me interested in what is happening on the GOP side of things, in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District. Consider: What does this all mean in the broader sense? How will Elwyn Tinklenberg handle the fact that there is now another person in things, after having condescendingly challenged Michele Bachmann to debating things? Now where it looks as if Bachmann has a more immediate consideration than talking publicly with Elwyn Tinklwnberg, what of a three corner debate, El? Michele, are you game? I would enjoy seeing Elwyn Tinklenberg face some opposition in the mix besides a Stillwater town dunce, someone who perhaps can out-psyche the Tink.

Will the Tink man up to that, or duck the challenge?

______UPDATE______
I have set a Google Alert for "Aubrey Immelman" and here is a Google return on him. I checked Google News and it appears the St. Cloud Times article has been incorporated into an AP feed, per here. I will post no other links or link updating, but may in a day or two see if further comment looks appealing. That's something you can check on your own. Is it on the Fourth of July, a person sensing a patriotic duty to give MN 6 a new face, a fresh and appealing option? Or another opportunist to go with the other two? We wait. We see.

______FURTHER UPDATE______
The explanation of a traditional conservative Republican having a giving history to DFL candidate Patty Wetterling as a personal and professional tie of friendship and common public participation in the missing persons - abduction question is very credible to me, from the donation history. Immelman helped Wetterling when running against Democrats or Republicans, when running for Senator or Representative. It was constant. The man is not an influence buyer, he is not one giving to both sides of the aisle from a massive wealth or with corporate or lobbying ties or interests. He is not sitting on a three-legged milking stool exploiting cash cows at multiple sites in the state, drawing fees from multiple public local government coffers. He does consult, but not by regularly dropping the name of a Congressman. He earns his money.
