They can tell google not to scrape, and then not get attention. How is a bot different? It does "summarization" which discourages following links. Beyond that, it appears to not use "secret sauce" text aggretator processing >> text output.
That is today's technology. The massive scraping and processing claimed to be OpenAI's commercial advantage is not claimed traditionally. Both search/return forms are actively evolved over time.
In one instance a format is used encouraging going to original sources. In the other a summarization discourages further follow-up.
