You scratch Marco's back, he'll scratch yours.

This is news? Strib:

Jeff Johnson named Minnesota state chairman of Rubio for president - By Patrick Condon - July 29, 2015 — 6:02pm

Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson endorsed Marco Rubio for president on Wednesday and will be Minnesota state chairman for the Florida senator's presidential campaign.

Johnson was the Republican candidate for governor last year, but lost to Gov. Mark Dayton. The Plymouth resident is also a former member of the Republican National Committee.

Johnson told the Star Tribune that he likes several of the Republican contenders but that Rubio distinguished himself in the crowded field of 17 declared candidates.

"I think he's the best communicator," Johnson said. "That's important for us, that we have someone who can really connect with people."
One of those great communicators; so, how might Marco communicate, greatly?

Sen. Marco Rubio backs Jeff Johnson for Minnesota governor - By Rachel E. Stassen-Berger, Pioneer Press - PUBLISHED: October 24, 2017 at 7:15 am | UPDATED: January 25, 2018 at 11:03 am

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio announced he is backing Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson in the Minnesotan Republican’s second bid to become governor.

[...] Johnson was Rubio’s Minnesota chairman when the Floridian ran for president last year and helped Rubio win Minnesota’s Republican caucuses. Minnesota was the only state Rubio won in the GOP primary.

[...] Johnson campaign manager Justin Arnold, who also worked for Rubio’s presidential campaign last year, said the campaign is working to find a date on which the senator can visit Minnesota to support Johnson in person.

Trump-tie bros, but what visit, when, where? Marco must be busy.

Another communicator, actually a show of dueling communicators, per MinnPost:

Pawlenty has tried to point out the differences between talking about governing and actually governing. He not only criticises [sic] Johnson for not taking on some of the issues he complains about now — such as never introducing a bill while in the Legislature to restrict the Met Council or halt light rail funding — he defends his own eight years in office.

“If you are a conservative leader, you actually have to do something. You have to do more than take up space,” Pawlenty told Johnson during the MPR forum. [...]

Johnson has not only fully embraced Donald Trump but attacks Pawlenty for not being sufficiently loyal to the president. This is despite the fact that Trump was Johnson’s third choice for president in 2016, having first endorsed Marco Rubio and then Ted Cruz. Johnson argues that he has misgivings about Trump but voted for him. Pawlenty, who withdrew his endorsement after the “Access Hollywood” video came to light and called Trump “unfit,” had already voted for Trump by absentee ballot.

So, where's the Ted Cruz endorsement? Second fiddle does not play? Or is it that Ted's own bacon's in the fire this cycle? And first principles come first?

Jeff seems to be reaching a bit with the Marco returned favor called "news" on the Johnson campaign site; well, bigger news than that, a deer knocked over a sunflower in the backyard at the house in Ramsey, but the deer have left alone the Bill Vikander for Minnesota House District 35A, signs along the roadway, in front.

How's that for a topper to Marco returns a favor, so?
