A "Pocket Putin" in Trump Tower? Could it be?

RT does have its own editorial priorities, apart from say, MSNBC or FOX.

Vault 7? Who dat? Two items, two excerpts, starting with this from here:

Assange questioned whether the loss of the information was known to former US President Barack Obama and current president Donald Trump before being revealed by WikiLeaks. He also questioned if the loss had been shared with companies such as Apple and Google, which were made vulnerable by it.

“WikiLeaks has a lot more information,” Assange said, adding that after considering its options the organization decided to work with the manufacturers affected by the alleged CIA surveillance to give them exclusive access to some of the leaked information.

“Once this material is effectively disarmed we will publish additional details about what has been occurring,” Assange added.

Answering a question that he admitted came from himself, Assange said WikiLeaks “fights for the rights of publishers, sources and media accuracy” and that the cyber weapon details being published were used to investigate journalists. “We want to secure communications technology because without communications technology journalists cannot hold the state to account,” Assange said.

CNN asked whether it was legal for the CIA to do this, per US law, provided the hacking techniques are used overseas.

“It is an unusual time in the United States to see an intelligence agency so heavily involved in domestic politics,” Assange said, when asked if the CIA was experiencing turmoil within its ranks.

When questioned about redactions, Assange said 78,000 pieces of information were withheld, consisting of IP addresses of both target and attack machines. The IPs will be investigated and identified before the redaction is removed.

MORE TO FOLLOW

Woo! An ending teaser. Clearly RT has mastered the modes of FOX for holding interest, for some. More? Sure:

The ‘Pocket Putin’ listening posts are virtual and are stored on a CIA server.

The posts named after the Russian leader are used by the Operational Support Branch (OSB) of the CIA, which acts as a middleman between CIA operational staff and the agency’s technical support staff.

CIA case officers make requests to the OSB who then help turn those requests into hacking attacks on CIA targets.

The Putin listening posts are stored on the OSB’s big server, known as the ESXi, which is used to deploy and service an array of virtual computers operated by the spy agency.

While the documents don’t detail where the ‘Pocket Putins’ are used, or the content they collect, listening posts are used to monitor and communicate with malware which has already infected computers and other devices.

According to the documents, the OSB boasts that its projects have “the dankest Trojans and collection tools.”

BIG, BIG NEWS, THERE IN THE MIDDLE: RT TWEETS!

There could be all kinds of speculation about from where RT picked up the idea of tweeting, but here, we'll wait for actual evidence.

And, food for thought, why the big, big dueling press over Comey wanting the Trump Justice Department to unfinger his FBI? Such a push-pull story does move attention away from others with devices and software. It does do that.

And with "Russian hacking" and "Wikileaks CIA documents" being what they are in headlining of real and/or "fake" news, a sound bet is the Chinese and Israelis are sitting aside, "ears" attentive, and taking bets.
