Is it proper to say we are a nation now constrained to walk a hidebound political correctness path? Are there proud deviants in the face of any such trend? Is it politically correct to point out and parade any percieved incorrectness? You judge.

A friend sent a link to a George Will pontification on the issue, online here. Not to belittle Will's structured argument, which has weight to it; but there is this per a minutes-ago Google:

Last, why not get the Wilfs involved in renaming the mountain? They'd bring in good money selling naming rights.

(One ancillary worry: Is "pontification" an incorrect usage, absent it being from the Pope?)
