"Referring to Kelly's questions, Trump told CNN in an interview late Friday, 'There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.' Soon after the interview aired, RedState's Erick Erickson booted Trump from the event's Saturday lineup. 'I just don't want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong,' Erickson wrote on the RedState website. He said that 'while Mr. Trump resonates with a lot of people with his bluntness, including me to a degree, there are just real lines of decency a person running for president should not cross.' Trump's campaign was incensed — and unbowed. 'This is just another example of weakness through being politically correct. For all of the people who were looking forward to Mr. Trump coming, we will miss you. Blame Erick Erickson, your weak and pathetic leader,' according to a campaign statement."

Victim of aggressive political correctness?

Are the thought police over reacting?

Certainly Trump can be critizized for bluntness. Yet it seems the will to call a spade a spade is what plays to the Republican base. A base the Jeb!s of the world feel should be seen but not heard. Vote with us, then take a hike for four years? That's coarse, yet what the Republican rank and file experience time and again from the banker elites.

Where will it lead? Will the question arise, is this entertainer like the last one the GOP fronted, back in the 1980's? If so, hope he is quelled. If different, cut him slack.

At least pay out rope to see if he hangs himself, rather than dweebs telling him to not show up, unwelcome among his peers seeking the same office? Is the will in that segment to corner the man, to force him to no choice but a run as an independent? By making him a stranger to those with whom he resonantes in his own GOP "Big Tent?" How big is small?

What are guys like this Erickson fellow afraid of? That Trump will trump the tepid confederates he is barred from comingling with? What? Fear itself?

He is as core Republican as it gets. He is Mitch McConnell and John Boehner and the VP guy who ran with Romney, just not eschewing double-speak when working the GOP prols, like the others do. He speaks bluntly to those thinking bluntly - and some GOP operatives are uneasy? Bless 'em.

FURTHER UPDATE: Why are they universally piling on? Weigh that question because it says more of the Republican elite and their indirection in saying what they and much of their base feel in their bones. Trump says it, and is castigated. Go figure. Is the problem him? Or the others?
