Rachel E. Stassen-Berger of Strib, briefly, yesterday, reported:
Michael Brodkorb, the passionate spokesman for the Minnesota Senate and chief aide to former Majority Leader Amy Koch, no longer works for the Senate.
In an email sent to senators and staff late Friday afternoon, interim Senate Majority Leader Geoff Michel said simply, "I have been informed by the Secretary of the Senate that Michael Brodkorb is no longer employed by the Minnesota Senate."
Brodkorb's departure follows Koch's.
Koch suddenly resigned Thursday. On Friday, senior senators confirmed they had confronted her about an 'inappropriate relationship' with a staffer.
Brodkorb is a former deputy chair of the Minnesota Republican Party but quit that post in October. He has long been an active voice in Minnesota politics.
Secretary of the Senate Cal Ludeman when asked whether Brodkorb resigned, was laid off or was fired said: "I will not tell you that. I will only confirm that he is no longer an employee of the state Senate."
