I had earlier posted about Anoka County paying an ex legislator too much, at ninety grand, to lobby. But wait, there's more.

My post, here.

More. Here.

Even with the dollar going lower and lower in value against oil, gold, food and other currencies so that it is less than it's been - these people should justify how much they are taking out of government for themselves.

It seems excessive. It is done by an old boy net, and I expect the highly paid Sheriff's folks are part of the network.

Why else?

Are there any readers to defend this stuff via comments?

I am particularly galled by such sums as are being spent to lobby. It is something that in an ideal world would never be done, while in our world it's done in competition with other people and entities competing for unfair advantage, and paying for connected people to help in attaining unfair advantage.

Too bad, it is not an ideal world.

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers". - Henry VI (Part 2)
Play by Shakespeare (Act IV, Scene II).

Obviously they did not have lobbyists in Shakespeare's day, or killing the lawyers would have been third - after the lawyer-lobbyists first, and the other lobbyists second.
