More Elwyn Tinklenberg Unregistered Lobbyist Info. I am shocked, SHOCKED.

If it walks like a duck, shows up where ducks show up, quacks there like a duck, but does not register as a duck what is it - an unregistered duck.

Try it for a lobbyist - the difference being that administrative lobbying, honestly done in full compliance with Minnesota law, requires lobbyist registration with the CFB for legislative or administrative lobbying in the State, identifying the individual(s), corporation(s), and/or organization(s) on behalf of whom the lobbying is being done.

Keeping that disclosure law in mind, there is this, Metro Airport Commission online document, as excerpted:

Here is Elwyn Tinklenberg's 2007 lobbyist registration data.

Nothing about Crystal nor anything about the crabgrass perpetrators [aka developers] he is representing, who they are, etc., giving an indication we can search elsewhere and find at the CFB website a reported disclosure form listing identities, dollar amounts, etc.

Instead, we see ---- The Anoka County Regional Rail Authority
- and that's different, as is stuff in Hassen Township - Hassen Mainstreet LLC.

This, being yet another example of Tinklenberg's extensive unregistered lobbying, is troubling. It is murkiness when the law intends transparency, (sunshine being the best disinfectant if we heed Justice Brandeis' 1914 aphorism).

###

Elwyn Tinklenberg, a public question for you that the GOP, not me, should be confronting you with - why not register when you lobby, or is this in your mind somehow not lobbying - or are you somehow in your mind above the law?

MinnGOP, a question for you and Rep. Bachmann, why are you not doing even basic research on this gentleman, and telling voters about what you find out and what in it voters might find troubling?

Does a duck know what it is? Does it have an excuse? So, one more difference between ducks and lobbyists. It's hard to say, "Ducks should know better."

_________UPDATE__________
Crystal Airport, for now, is staying open. In fairness to registered lobbyist Elwyn Tinklenberg, the Hassan Mainstreet LLC employer arguably might overlap to developer sniffing and venturing around the Crystal Airport area.

Online, there is this: There was a transit promotion effort called Northwest Corridor Partnership that changed its name to the "Bottineau Boulevard Partnership" to conform to a 2004 Hennepin County road name change. A Metro Tramsit online page indicates Bottineau Blvd. transit planning as below [click to enlarge]:

That opening mention of "potentially reaching the growing communities of Dayton, Rogers and Hassan Township" is naming the exact spot where Tinklenberg, Beard Group, and whoever was putting up the cash were doing their transit-oriented livable shtick.

The mischief there might be related to mischief further downtown, the Crystal Airport property, with the same lobbyist hiring entity, Hassan Mainstreet, LLC.

Perhaps, perhaps not.

See: Bottineau Boulevard: the new County Road 81, here. See Met Council much text but little information, with a pic of a spiffy bus, here. See, "The Bottineau Boulevard Light Rail Transit Project," here; see also, here, here for BRT vs LRT [no kidding, I did not make those abbreviations up as a joke], here for a map, and for something the Tinklenberg people could well have written, here, for this:

It is their kind of lightweight puffery.

BOTTOM LINE: I will email this link to the info@... Tinklenberg campaign site, asking for a reply - part of Hassan Mainstreet, LLC lobbying, or independent lobbying?

Unless and until I get a response, we can and should believe it separate and, hence, improper unregistered lobbying.
